Fitness Tour to Sardinia, Italy
Sardinia is a part of Italy and is the 2nd largest Island of the Mediterranean. The centre of the island is mainly mountainous, however, the weather is fair in the winter and hot in the summer. With 1800 kilometres of coastline, Sardinia is a haven for lovers of all water sports, add to this a rich 400 year old history, superb fish, seafood and sunshine and you have the perfect destination.
So, how would you like to leave the everyday stresses behind and take advantage of receiving professional treatment from a locally born Personal Trainer who now lives and practices in the United Kingdom.
The area within the province of Oristano is one of the largest protected wetland areas in Europe. The Sale Porcus Marsh is one of the largest reserves on the Sinis peninsula. In spring and winter over 10,000 flamingos and thousands of cranes, wild geese, cormorants and mallards make their home here, making the area look like an East African Lake. The West Coast is one of the most fertile areas of Sardinia. Vineyards cover the land around Oristano and near the beaches in the Sinis region producing quantities of Vernaccia wine. Small beaches and seaside resorts nestle against sand dunes shaded by thick pine forests. Some stretches of cliff, wild and rocky, can only be reached by boat or after a lengthy trek.
Excursions are available, for instance, a trip to local craft workshop where you will have the fantastic opportunity of creating your own piece of Sardinian pottery. Keep in mind Sardinia is ground for comprehensive testimonials of each of the many peoples that, during the course of the centuries, have inhabited the Island. Evidence of our Island’s rich cultural and artistic history can be found in the Basilica di Saccargia, the Roman Amphitheatre in Cagliari and the hundreds of towers and fortresses that were built during the various historical epochs. The caves, abandoned mines and wind-sculpted rocks simply add to its numerous, truly natural monuments.
